En septembre 2016, Travis Scott sort son deuxième album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight. Après Rodeo, l'artiste texan revient avec un second opus, plus mature et ordonné que le précédent. L'album est polyvalent, avec des morceaux posés comme rythmés. On y retrouve plusieurs artistes comme Kendrick Lamar, Andre 3000 ou encore Kid Cudi. Un peu moins d'un an après sa sortie, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight est certifié disque de platine.
